Well, longer crank arms will give you more leverage but will affect the toe overlap (Barspinzzzzzzzzzzzz)

No too sure of what you want to know lol

not only barspin clearance, but it'll also affect pedal strike, you can't stop pedaling through a corner, you don't want your pedals digging into the ground as you turn.

175's too long, plus it's a bmx crankset, so it'll stick it out further, making it even more easier to pedal strike.

actually my demo to tree lite splined has been making pretty gnarly creaking noises as of lately.

i thought it was my front wheel for the longest time but i changed wheels and the noise was there.

i greased it up and it went away for a bit but it's starting to slowly come back. i thought it might be because i tightened the cranks too much.

tightened too much?
usually a creaking noise is the result of a loose bolt or something in your cranks
..at least, it was for me.

Dont do that!, its plenty fine if your bearings move out a bit when you install a euro bmx bb. you arent going to hurt yourself or anything but you need the tube spacer unless you want to replace your bb on a monthly basis. it keeps the bearings in alignment and prevents seizing. again its totally normal for the bearings to press out in the cups when you crank it down. as long as your spindle isnt seizing up you are good.

they were moving out to the point where i couldn't the cone do-dads to stay on. once i get around to it, i'll put it back in... from what I hear from my BMX buddies, a lot of dudes run their cranks without it... maybe i'll leave it as-is as an experiment...

sheldon brown states that creaking noises in the crank area are usually due to slop in between the bb shell and the outer bearing sleeve. grease is not the answer. try loctite in between the bb shell and bearing and see what happens.

Maybe you can shave/cut that little middle piece down a bit depending on how much they stick out

Thing you might be confusing the famous line "cheap, strong, light - choose two" said by some bloke called Keith Bontrager. So you can have cheap and strong, but they will be heavy.
